How we can make your time and money go further with your healthcare
Our primary objective is to give you the best help possible for your healing journey. As a crucial part of this commitment to your wellbeing, we also ensure that your money goes as far as it can, for the best quality of care. Funding healthcare can be stressful and frustrating and we don’t want a second of your time wasted.
At Active Edge Physio, we’re not just experts in physiotherapy. In addition, we can offer cross-disciplinary therapy within our own team. What this means is that we can also do things like working out what equipment will be most beneficial to you and prescribe it accordingly, taking into account your short, medium and long-term physical capabilities.
Often, equipment gets prescribed without specialist medical understanding. Time and again, we’ve seen how detrimental this can be. For example, someone with a degenerative neurological condition might be told they need a base model wheelchair that cannot be adapted or modified as the participant’s condition worsens. At great expense, a large chunk of their NDIS funding goes to the wheelchair and within 12 months, this equipment becomes redundant. This type of situation will not arise under our care. We want you to have long-term solutions and invest in equipment that has longevity too; we will never be careless with your funding.
We also partner with specialists in occupational therapy, speech pathology and exercise physiology, to bring you the benefits of multi-disciplinary clinics, without their disadvantages.
Here’s 5 ways we can give you the greatest value for your time and money:
-
We bring you the best value for every minute of your time. For example, if you have been prescribed high-cost assistive technology, such as a wheelchair, on the day this gets delivered, you’ll need someone to meet the supplier with you for the fitting. Typically, non rehabilitation trained therapists will bill you for both their travel and waiting time. If you hire us to be there to support you, we will use that waiting time to give you a physiotherapy session.
-
Our depth of understanding about your physical needs makes it easier to plan for your short and long-term needs in terms of equipment purchases that will be most beneficial.
-
By partnering with other Allied Health professionals, who are highly skilled and experienced in their field, we unite in creating a specialised, multi-disciplinary approach for your healthcare action plan. You will not be treated by junior staff with limited experience or support.
-
We understand that there’s often a lot of paperwork and hoop jumping required in receiving your funding and the care you need. We want you to get as much therapy as you can for your money, so we will always have an ongoing open, honest and realistic dialogue with you about what we can provide.
-
Our staff have cross-disciplinary skills, so in many cases, instead of needing to separately hire an occupational therapist in addition to a physiotherapist, by hiring one of our team, we can also do many of the things an OT can do and combine these disciplines in one session.
