Why we come to you
Ever been to a fitness class or a group lesson or activity of some description, where it all makes sense following the instructor during the session. Then you get home, fully intending to practice independently, and suddenly it becomes a lot harder to apply what you learnt?
It’s exactly the same for any medical or physical rehabilitation. When participants have to attend neuro physio appointments in a clinic or hospital environment, they are not just having to deal with the task in hand, related to their current goal. They are also having to take in their surroundings, try and reflect on their real-life experience at home and how this then relates in the clinical setting, and they are also trying to piece together how any of what they are doing in that session is then going to transfer in a practical way, once they return home.
Our team at Active Edge Physio remove all of these extra layers of stress and confusion by working with people in the comfort of their own homes. We look at people’s real life challenges, in real life contexts and share solutions that really work to positively enhance their everyday lives.
In their own environment, it becomes far easier to ask people to show us what they are finding hard and what they need our support with. We can, for example, see the layout of the furniture in their living room and how getting in and out of their armchair is causing them unnecessary pain. We see first-hand exactly what they are dealing with in their daily life and we can then ensure we are improving their life with positive, practical changes that they can start implementing straight away. Sometimes a person will have naturally created a workaround for themselves that is expending a lot of energy and we will be able to give them an alternative solution that works far better for them, with more ease.
We love seeing people thrive as they make weekly progress on their physio action plan. Working with people in their own home is the key to meaningful, lasting improvements.
